NEW LYRICS!!!!

please review and give your feedback!!!!

BLACK WASP

I dreamt this morning of a black wasp

It moved with your memory and stung of your loss

And so I took action that brings forgiveness

(ch)

And I hope you hear me

And I hope you smile

And I hope you love me...

Once and a while

Slender thing of beauty how you sting

But even after all these years you still make me sing

And so I write words that bring forgiveness

(ch)

Someone asked me how I lost my muse

I darent have said, but it was all the loss of you

So please take from me this song of forgiveness

(ch) - (end)

UNDER THE BLACK SKY

I am so alone

With a cloudscape mind

Counting fractured pictures

And spending coins of time

I still hear the preachers daughter

Even now without trust

I paint the wicked pretty

And hide behind the rust

(ch)

Where the whispered words run

Tragic stars have fallen high

The preachers daughter dreams here

Under the black sky

Under the black sky

Oh maestro, can you

Speak now just for me

Visions of your solitude

That set the people free

On the eve of a sunrise

Witnessed before sleep

Teach me naked wisdom

To make the wicked weep

(ch)

Looking up feels like looking down

Under the black sky

LIKE A TRIGGER IN A BLACK GUN

It takes a woman like you

To break a man like me

It takes a woman like you

To make me bleed

You told me I was the only one

But now youve killed me like a trigger in a black gun

It takes a man like you

To make me do the things I do

It takes a man like you

To make an honest woman be so untrue

I told you, you were the only one

But I caught you flirting like a trigger in a black gun

What do I have to do

To get my message thru to you

What do I have to do

I want you back and I promise to be true

I want to love you, be your only one

Cmon babe Im like a trigger in a black gun

(solo)

Cmon babe whats your answer?

Cmon babe cmon cmon baby.

Cmon whats your answer?

Cmon cmon whats your answer?

Well

Im gonna say this one last time

You cant make me change my mind

Im gonna say this one last time

Take a cold shower boy cuz Im the best youll ever find.

Remember boy you aint the only one

Cuz Im a lover like a trigger in a black gun

In a black gun

In a black gun

Awww thats so cruel.

BEHIND THE BLACK VEIL

1)

I know where I want to go

I want to run into your arms again

Lover I need your touch to take me to the place I need to go

Lover please please dont leave me here behind the black veil

Remember too much time has past

Remember friendships dont always last

Remember I loved you so much once

So please please remember me now and then

2)

I want to run but I always seem to trip and fall

I know I need to tell you that you are eternal bliss

Im a severed stranger here on my own; a poet prince of sword and bone

So Lover please please dont leave me here behind the black veil.

NEW-PENNY BLACK

(ch) (male)

I've found my heart is new-penny black

It ain't worth much and I cant get it back

Love's worth so little when you lose the knack

Then what you hold in your hand is new-penny black

New-penny black

1) (male)

I walk this road

Without my light

And I've forgotten how to fight

I walk this Earth

Without my star

And I'm quite sure I wont get too far cuz

(ch) (male and female harmony)

2) (female)

Dont cry my love

Cuz youre not alone

I'm here to hold your hand and help you make it home

I know you've had a few

And the road looks strange

But I still love you and I'll help ease the pain

Cuz

(ch) (female)

bridge (male falsetto)

Ohhh new-penny black (repeat 3x)

Life's worth so little when its new-penny black

3) (male and female (alternate?))

Now we're together

Two alone

We're together and we both made it home

Not much to say

So let's keep it quiet

I'll hold you here and I hope you like it

Oh because

(altered ch) (male and female harmony)

I've found my heart is new-penny black

It ain't worth much and I cant get it back

This time may not be worth much but I think I've finally got the knack

Cuz what I'm holding in my hand is new-penny black

Yes I believe this love is new-penny black.

New-penny black (repeat 4x)

MORE LYRICS TO COME!!!!!

HERE IS SOME INFO ABOUT ME AND MY LITTLE HUMBLE STUDIO.

Got more questions?  Feel free to Contact me.

Tom Harter is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/vocalist/producer from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

He has been a guitarist and songwriter for 26 years.  He is a prolific writer with innumerable songs to his credit.  He has two official CD releases:

* After the Dreams - (1994): original acoustic guitar based songs with hand percussion by Brad Miller.

* for those who fall - (2003): 12 diverse & beautifully moody all original songs.

Also available (by request only) is Tom's painfully beautiful album "Moonlight."  Recorded and produced by Tom with just acoustic guitar and voice, "Moonlight" is a dark look into decaying relationships.  (Sometimes... this one is Tom's favorite!)

Waiting for Guitar is Tom's studio where he writes and records not only himself but various local musicians and vocalists.  Currently it is more of a hobby than a true business, but maybe someday the little apartment based studio will grow up and move out to a better home.  Even admitting this shortcoming, Tom has helped produce some fine recordings.  Please see:

* Dan Weaver - The Sun Trail

* Disinformation Machine - Etchings

Tom has also done a number of smaller projects transferring audio from tape or 4-track into the computer for CD replication.

Tom has gained his experience working with audio equipment and recording gear since he was in high school.  Tom believes that learning great recording technique starts with being able to work with the simplest gear.  All the fancy computers in the world can't replace a good set of ears, patience, microphone placement, and a creative musician with good material.

Note from Tom:

Hello everyone.  Music is too loud these days.  Too over-compressed.  And too lifeless as a result.

I recommend that you master at a lower volume... and turn up your stereo.  You've got 100 watts... USE THEM!

Now... I know that if you want a CD to sound good on the radio that you have to be close in volume.  Well... you can do that and still keep the dynamics if you understand relative volume.  Check out John Vestman's web page in my Links section for great information about mastering.  He's already said most of what I believe... so I don't need to say it.  I'll get your CD loud if you want it loud... but I'm not going to make it loud at the expense of dynamics.

Please contact me if you'd like to discuss mastering, mixing, or music in general.  I'm glad to help.
